A Future Economy Powered by Clean Hydrogen

As a region with a history of innovation and engineering excellence, Northern Ireland is now presented with the opportunity to be at the forefront on the next revolution in driving a future economy powered by clean energy.

A Future Economy Powered by Clean Hydrogen was an event which took place on 19 October at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast.

This event highlighted the exciting prospect of a Hydrogen economy; its potential to drive economic development, secure and sustain high-skilled, well-paid jobs, develop indigenous resilient energy security and most importantly, reduce greenhouse emissions contributing to Northern Ireland’s net-zero goals.

Two complementary reports were discussed from The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre and Matrix – The Northern Ireland Science Industry Panel, examine the changes needed to provide the policy, oversight, governance and investment to transform the Northern Ireland economy from being heavily reliant on fossil fuels to attaining energy independence through locally produced, clean renewable energy.
